In the past, students started 5th grade band at the beginning of the second semester. In the future, 5th graders will be able to start band at the beginning of the year. This year's 5th graders were introduced to the instruments at a Holiday Concert given by the Jr. High Bands. The next evening,. They attended a meeting given by representatives from Muncie Music Center. They were allowed to try as many instruments as they liked until they found one that best suited them. This year, we have over 40 beginners signed up for band!! They meet every other day in the afternoon. Beginning next year, 5th Grade Band will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays in the morning, in our brand new elementary band room.

     This year's 6th Grade Band have been working very to hard to get ready for Jr. High. We meet as a large group on Mondays, and in smaller groups the rest of the week. They performed at the Elementary Winter Program and are beginning work on the Spring Program. We have 31 students in the 6th Grade Band and they are improving by leaps and bounds every week.
